As you may be aware the iconic Knife – Angel Sculpture is coming to Southwater, Telford. It will be on show from Saturday 29th February, from 2pm, until Sunday 29th March. The sculpture was created by The British Ironwork Centre and sculpted by Alfie Bradley. The aim of this sculpture is to raise awareness of knife crime and the impact it has. The sculpture is made from 100,000 knife blades and stands at 27ft high.
Recharge have been running workshops throughout January, which will continue into February, which have seen a number of 12 – 21 year old’s come together with 2015 Hip Hop Act of the year – Trademark Blud and graffiti artist – Monermah, to write and record a song and produce a music video. The track will be launched at the Knife Angel arrival, with the graffiti art designed, on display at the site of the Knife Angel.
Throughout March, while the Knife Angel is on display, Telford and Wrekin will be running a number of activities, to be announced, along with dance and music performances to see. Recharge will be on hand every Saturday to have discussions and interact with the public.
